We walk through every checkpoint on the Iveco step by step — from the vehicle itself to the cab to bus-specific tasks — as preparation for hands-on training.

Pre-trip investigation class D - Iveco Crossway

Class D pre-trip inspection: our training video series on the Iveco

In the Class D (bus) exam too, there's a pre-trip inspection to get through before the actual driving starts. The examiner draws one of ten cards, each covering several tasks that you carry out directly on the vehicle while explaining out loud what you're doing. With a bus, there's extra ground to cover that you simply don't have on a truck — passenger area, doors, additional safety equipment.

That's why we're now showing you the pre-trip inspection step by step, directly on our Iveco — at the pace and in the order you'll actually need in the exam.

What you'll see

In the video, we cover areas including:

checks around the vehicle (tires, lights, bodywork)

checkpoints in the cab (tachograph, displays, controls)

brake and safety systems

bus-specific points such as doors and passenger area

Each card on its own, with the steps and explanations the examiner wants to hear.

Why it helps

You can't learn the pre-trip inspection by watching alone — in the end, you're the one standing at the bus, showing it yourself. But if you've already seen the steps a few times beforehand, you'll come across noticeably more confident in the exam. You'll know where to reach, what to say, and what comes next. The videos are a complement to the hands-on training you do with us, not a replacement for it.

Best to watch it before your first practical lesson — that way we can get straight into practicing.
