Abfahrt Actros: our new training video series on the pre-trip inspection
Before you drive a single meter in the practical Class C exam, there's the pre-trip inspection (Abfahrtkontrolle) to get through first. The examiner draws a card, you carry out the task on the vehicle, and explain what you're doing as you go. Sounds simple — but it's exactly where a lot of people lose points they didn't need to lose. Not because they can't do it, but because they're doing it "live" for the first time under exam pressure.
That's why we made "Abfahrt Actros": a video series where we go through the pre-trip inspection directly on our Actros — card by card, exactly as it happens in the real exam.
What you'll see
Across the videos, we cover things like:
how to correctly operate and read the tachograph (EG-Kontrollgerät)
how to check the brake fluid level
how to verify tire size against the vehicle registration
how to check lights and license plate lighting
Each card on its own, at real exam pace, with exactly the steps the examiner wants to see.
Why it helps
You can't learn the pre-trip inspection by watching alone — at some point you have to stand at the vehicle yourself. But if you've already seen the steps a few times beforehand, you'll come across noticeably calmer in the exam. You'll know where to reach, what to say, and in what order the steps come. That's exactly what this series is for: a complement to the hands-on training you do with us, not a replacement for it.
